Loving Nature

One of the best things about being retired is, my ability to go outside and view nature.  We live next to wetlands that give rise to life.  Watching the young birds, deer, turtles and other forms of new life grow during the summer is a joy beyond no other.  Sometimes the simplest of things can bring the greatest of joy.

Getting That Prop Blur

One of my loves of Photography is shooting airplanes, with my camera.  The idea of shooting a moving object, while I am moving, at a slow shutter speed is exciting.  What this does is show movement, in the propeller of the aircraft as seen in a prop blur.  Why is this so important, without the blur, the plane looks like it will fall from the sky.

I have found something fun to do in Photoshop and other software packages, Abstract Photography.

First you have to work an image, get an idea of what you want to do with it.  You can do this in Photoshop or other software or in camera.  Camera movement during exposure is one way to do it in camera.  I prefer the Photoshop way of doing it.  There are so many choices of what you can end up with, it is almost endless.  This is one of my favorite.  It started out as a sunflower with a little sky.
